As one of the principal founders of NeedThree, Mr. Huvard brings a lifetime of storytelling experience to our creative lab, having initially developed his narrative skills in the theater and later in the film industry where he worked for several years as the Director of Development for leading independent film studio, Carolco Pictures (producers of such films as the Rambo series, Total Recall, Basic Instinct, Chaplin and Jacob’s Ladder). Upon leaving Carolco to pursue a freelance screenwriting career, Mr. Huvard wrote The Crystal Tower for Director Tom Holland and Carolco and adapted the Nelson DeMille novel, The Charm School, for Todd-AO/TAE and Warner Brothers. More original material followed including scripts for 20th Century Fox and HyperFilms/Universal. But an interest and passion for cycling soon took his life and career down a different path and into the world of sports marketing where Mr. Huvard achieved industry-wide success managing national race programs for Diamondback Bicycles and Redman Bikes, as well as sponsorship promotions for Yamaha Motor Corporation. It was on-the-job training in brand building that finally led to his work in design and advertising, and his association with the design and advertising agency, MC BrandStudios. Over the next 10 years, Mr. Huvard served as the agency’s Creative Director and chief copywriter, subsequently earning national and even international recognition for his work with many Fortune 500 clients, including CB Richard Ellis, Ingram Micro, Guitar Center, American Commercial Lines and Tetra Tech. His contribution to the art of the annual report was featured on CNBC’s nationally broadcast morning business news show, Squawk Box, and showcased in the Museum of Arts and Commerce in Hamburg, Germany. In conceiving NeedThree, Mr. Huvard seeks to unite his passion for narrative storytelling, brand building and design into a unique creative laboratory.

Mr. Huvard earned his B.A. from Trinity University and his M.F.A. from the Columbia University School of Film and has also taught screenwriting, film art, and communications as an Adjunct Professor at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, CA.
